CCAA congratulates Labor on winning Saturday’s NSW election and looks forward to working with the new government to ensure the effective supply of critical construction materials to support efficient transport, hospital and education infrastructure programs.
Pleasingly, CCAA has built a solid relationship with the Minns Labor ministry while in opposition and we look forward to continuing our work together with them in Government.
CCAA’s members produce and supply the raw materials – cement, concrete, sand and aggregates – that are used for almost all construction activity and underpin the jobs of 370,000 workers in the NSW construction sector.
“Continuing to supply these materials in a reliable, affordable and sustainable way requires collaboration with government to ensure reliable access to raw materials and efficient transport infrastructure.” said CCAA CEO Ken Slattery.
“At the same time, enhanced road, rail and port infrastructure access is critical to delivering these materials in an efficient and sustainable manner.“
Collaboration between the industry and State and Federal governments will also be central to helping the industry achieve its ambition of delivering Net Zero concrete by 2050.
“We are also seeking to work with the new government to support the industry’s plans to deliver net zero concrete by 2050” said Mr Slattery.
